End of the fishing year - for most!

The biggest vessel in port, the scalloper Jacoba will keep her crew busy over the next few days after bending her port side derrick.
The engineer has had to cut out the damaged section .Ivan Ellen on station amidst the harbour Xmas lights and not a breath of wind this evening!

Penlee lifeboat disaster - 25 years on...

25 years on from the loss of the Penlee lifebaot and the last market for export fish is under way at 8am.
The Arun Class, Ivan Ellen rests at her new pontoon berth. She's the replacement boat for the Solomon Browne which was lost with all hands while attemting to rescue the crew and passengers from the Union Star.Andrew Munson, Newlyn harbour master recalls the events of that fateful night to James Churchfield as BBC Radio Cornwall broadcast it's entire breakfast show from the port.
