A rare shot of the Sea Eagle (more commonly known as the Tea Eagle) leaving Newlyn. George Lawry founder of the Cornish Fish Producers Organisation along with his wife Daphne were the driving force behind establishing the most important fishing lobby in the South West in the 1970s championing such causes as fighting reduction of fishing limits and the imminent arrival of the CFP. Sadly their attempts at getting a major harbour development in the late 70s were unsuccessful - these were remarkably similar to the most ambitious plan for the redevelopemnt of Newlyn recently abandoned in favour of less ambitious growth!
